As Pride celebrations around the world were compromised in the summer of 2020, 'Pride Is Protest' is a short film about the intersectional roots and personal resonance of the event. It's a celebration of Amsterdam's queer community and a reconnection of Pride to its roots. Bringing together asylum seekers, club kids, trafficking victims, designers, dragtavists and sex workers, the film shows the LGBTQIA+ community in all its dimensions, while also highlighting where there's still work to be done. As the VO director of this project, I had the honour of interviewing the wonderful people featured in the film and helping to match the right quotes to the visuals.
